HELP NEEDED  Sunday, October 9th is the 2022’s Fall Harvest Festival at Hancock’s Resolution and WE NEED YOUR HELP.  It runs from 10:00 am-4:00 pm and Benita and Bob Steele will provide lunch for Hancock volunteers.  The Ships Company will sing sea chanties on the porch and War of 1812 reinactors will hold a Militia Muster.  The Chesapeake Fiber Crafters, with our Lisa Geyer, will provide fiber arts demonstrations along with wares for sale. Woodcarvers and a few other crafters will have wares to sell.  NACPS members will display information about their organization and provide information about African Americans in the War of 1812. Visitors will be invited to learn about our story quilt and add stitches. The Bee Keepers will give demonstrations. Scales and Tails from the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary will be present.

Your help is needed in running our Harvest Festival activities such as scarecrow making, corn shelling & grinding, corn husk doll making, games, and selling food to visitors, in addition to docents for the ( Barn NOT OPEN AT THIS TIME,) house, and store.  You can volunteer for the full day or volunteer for a shift from 9:30-1:00 or 1:00-4:30.  Do you have a friend you work well with?  Consider asking them to volunteer along side you.  If you have suggestions to make this day fun, please share them with me.  THE MORE VOLUNTEERS WE HAVE, THE MORE ACTIVITIES WE CAN SET UP.

We also need donations of desserts we can sell, such as cake slices or cookies (packed in individual servings & wrapped in plastic).

By working together we can put on an exciting, fun filled event.  Please contact me by responding to this email or call me at 410-255-5913 to join our team of volunteers on October 9th.
